How we help children learn
We support children's learning by helping them retrieve their prior learning. We add our new learning and sticky knowledge to this so that we develop a strong and meaningful schema - this is shown on our schema walls within the classroom. It means that the children are able to know more and remember more of their learning. We help them to ignite their schema by interconnecting the curriculum and by using what is familiar to them within their locality.

How can I help and support my child at school?
Homework
Spelling are sent home each Friday, the spelling check will be given on the following Friday. These will also be on Spelling Shed
Reading is encouraged daily and should be recorded in your child’s blue reading record book.
Sharing books, reading with and to your child.
Visiting places of interest, talking to your child about them, and encouraging them to ask questions. Places you may choose to visit include: the library, country parks and local nature reserves, museums, etc.
Making opportunities to play and work with others.
Opportunities to be creative.
