Design Technology

 At Wimboldsley Community Primary School, to develop knowledge and understanding in Design and Technology, children learn to think creatively to solve problems and develop a natural curiosity alongside extending their understanding and skills base. We encourage children to use their creativity and imagination, to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. Our Key Strands include:  Food and Nutrition, Structures, Moving Mechanisms, Textiles and Electrical Systems

I have been working at Wimboldsley for almost a year and during this time I have led the subject of design and technology which I thoroughly enjoy. As DT lead, I have the pleasure of visiting classrooms to see DT in action, and I have the opportunity to speak to the children about exciting experiences and learning opportunities that are delivered across the school. Our DT curriculum is clearly mapped across each year group to ensure progression of skills, whilst delivering knowledge that is built upon from previous learning.
