Domestic Abuse
WeMatter is a digital support service designed for children and young people aged 8–17 who have experienced domestic abuse within their family home or parent/carer relationship.
What is WeMatter?
An online programme delivering a recovery toolkit, informed by Trauma-Focused CBT.
8-week sessions with activities, games, and discussions to help children and young people understand and recover from their experiences.
Peer support in a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment.
Flexible options: school-based groups (morning/afternoon) or home-based groups (after school).
Each young person receives an initial 1:1 session and a post-group 1:1 session.
Referral Criteria:
Children and young people aged 8–17, living in England.
Experienced historic domestic abuse (no incidents in the last 3 months).
Ideally no longer living with the alleged person who harmed (risk assessed individually).
