E -Safety

The internet is great and there are so many things you can do on it from finding out information, to playing games, to meeting friends, to live streaming. We know that there are lots of opportunities online but there are also risks. We want you to be completely safe when using the internet so that you enjoy and use it properly. That is why we study ESafety in school so that you know how to behave online and feel safe and confident using the internet

We understand that E-safety can be daunting so to help you to keep up to date with the latest information we have collated some useful websites to help you to keep your children safe online and offer advice that you may need.

Think U Know

Think U Know is an education programme developed by CEOP providing a variety of informative videos on different online issues. Thinkuknow aims to ensure that everyone has access to this practical information – children, young people, their parents and carers and the professionals who work with them. Childnet.com- Parents and Carers Toolkit

This toolkit offers resources and practical advice on keeping your child safe online. They can help support parents and carers of any age child to start discussions about their online life, to set boundaries around online behaviour and technology use, and to find out where to get more help and support.

'Let's talk about life online' includes ten key messages that should be shared with children:

1. You can always come to me if you need help.

2. What would you do if this happened…?

3. Remember that not everyone is who they say they are online.

4. Keep your personal information safe, and other people’s too.

5. Be respectful to others online.

6. Think before you post.

7. Remember to ask if it’s okay.

8. Remember not everything is true online.

9. The things other people post online might not always show what their life is really like.

10 Recognise how going online makes you feel and take a break when you need to.
