Homework tips ...Reading, Writing and Maths

Helping your child learn

There are lots of ways that you can help your child at home for example read as much as you can with your child and support them with their current learning that is taking place in school.

All children work at different levels in different subjects depending on their strengths. As well as this they work at different rates. When we refer to 'our expectations' we at Wimboldsley Primary school base our teaching around the individual child. We consider personal targets and rates of progress. For example, a very able child is challenged to carry out work in a different way and apply it to different areas of the curriculum. This way, all our pupils are expected to make good progress and achieve their potential.

At the end of Key Stage One (Year 2) and Key Stage Two (Year 6) pupils are given National Curriculum assessments (SATs) in English (reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling) and Maths. These assess the attainment of the children attending Wimboldsley
